Independence Day is an annual observance celebrated every year on 15th of August. India's Independence Day is a day of great significance for the people of India. At this day India got freedom from the British rule after long years of slavery. It has been declared as the National Holiday all across the India in order to independently commemorate the independence of country from British Empire on 15th of August in 1947.

APIMR also celebrates this festival every year. The flag was hoisted by Hon. Mr. Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil, M.P. Shirur Constituency followed by a speech.

Hon.Shri. Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil conveyed the important message of patriotism and national spirit. He also tribute to the leaders of the freedom struggle; said "Independence day should not merely become a part of our holiday list. There should be serious efforts in educating the future generations about the struggles which the freedom fighters underwent to give us the freedom that we enjoy today."

The occasion was graced by all the faculty members of SBSPM along with the students.
